Who we are

 

Polish Readership Survey Ltd. (PBC) was established in 1997 on the initiative of press publishers whose aim was to develop universally recognized standards for readership estimates and to guarantee the reliability of collected data. This approach has allowed the company to attract publishers of all types of press: national and regional dailies, weeklies, magazines as well as trade publications. PBC's experience is also recognized by nearly all advertising agencies and media houses.

PBC is owned by Polish Audit Bureau of Circulation – Związek Kontroli Dystrybucji Prasy (ZKDP), an institution associating publishers, advertisers and advertising agencies i.e. representatives of all groups interested in the existence of a research standard and willing to use the data in their daily operations. PBC Supervisory Board consists of representatives of the companies which provide funding for readership surveys.

In order to guarantee the highest quality of research, since December 2003 additional control over PBC methodology and realization of a research project has been exercised by the PBC Team of Experts, whose main task is to approve the research methodology and monitor the realization. Since 1999 PBC surveys have been carried out by SMG/KRC Millward Brown Company – the largest market research institute in Poland.

PBC's current research project consists of two principal elements. The first is a standard readership survey (PBC General) conducted with a sample of approximately 48,000 respondents per year and covering nearly 200 press titles. The other, equally  important element, is the Target Group Index consumer study.

The success of PBC’s research project is guaranteed by consistent standards recognized by press editors, media houses and advertising agencies. Those standards allow them to work out professional plans for the media and design development strategies for individual titles.

The Supervisory Board is a legislative body.


The research is conducted by the PBC Team.
